Hello Everyone,
Welcome to your 2009 101 week introduction, I would just like to share a few words to get you psyched about this upcoming fall. First, I would like to mention that this week will be one of the greatest experiences of your life, not just because of the awesome activities and events that we have planned for you, but because this week allows you to set the stage for the rest of your university career. You will be given the opportunity to do whatever you would like with your university experience and it all starts here. If I could give you one piece of advice for this week, it would be to take advantage of this opportunity to meet as many new people as possible and ask questions. Most importantly leave it all at the door, any assumptions you have about 101 week or university, forget them and come into this week with an open mind - you will not regret it. Lastly, I would like to let you know that this week is meant to introduce you to the university experience, do not be afraid to take chances, ask questions, and cut loose. I look forward to seeing all of you this fall.
Kind regards,
Christopher Beaudoin

Welcome to the Telfer School of Management!
You have made what is, in my opinion, one of the best decisions of your life. The University of Ottawa's Telfer School of Management is a great place to be, providing you with endless possibilities during your undergrad and preparing you for a successful business career. We are quickly making a name for ourselves as one of the leading business schools in Canada and we are conveniently located in one of the most amazing places to work and play ? Canada's capital. I can't say enough about what the Telfer School has to offer to each and every one of its students: captivating classes, outstanding professors, extremely successful student run clubs and associations, a very valuable career centre, and so much more. The Telfer School also makes its home in one of the most beautiful, state-of-the-art buildings in downtown Ottawa, the Desmarais Building, completed in the fall of 2007.
As much as I could go on and on forever about how much I love the Telfer School of Management, I am here to talk about YOUR 101 WEEK! What exactly is 101 week? It is an orientation week filled with exciting events and activities planned especially with you in mind. You will be meeting your fellow students while having the time of your life. You will be partying on the beach, in the hottest clubs, hip restaurants and even on a boat along with second, third, and fourth year management students who will be acting as your "guides" for the week and that will be more than happy to answer any question you may have. This year the theme is "Country Club" ? you'll notice throughout this pamphlet that your guide captains are already pumped to get started!
My job as the Vice-President of Social Affairs of the Telfer Student Council is to provide you with a memorable week and safe environment in order to introduce you to University life and to get to know your peers. The 101 week organizing committee has been working tirelessly since April to bring you what will be the best week of your life so far. I cannot thank this committee enough for all the time and effort they have volunteered ? during summer none the less! ? in order to make this a great time for everyone participating. I would like to sincerely thank the following people:
Alexandra Brunette-DeSouza
Brad Conlin
Christine Contant
Louis Racine
Stephanie Lui
Vinna Le
I cannot wait to meet all of you and hope that you are looking forward to the first week of school as much as I am! Please do not hesitate to e-mail me with any questions at telfer101week@gmail.com and don't forget to join the Facebook group "Telfer School of Management 101ers".
